From President Phyllis Matlick, published in the December, 2009 edition of the printed newsletter:
Hi Neighbors,
Well, the resident of Rosemont Avenue are still trying to get speed bumps on this street, but it seems like we are going up against a stone wall. Most recently, a letter was written to the Traffic Division of Baltimore City requesting again speed bumps be placed on this street. I received a copy of the reply. It was rather amusing, because it stated in the letter that in order to request these bumps, the request had to come from the association. I responded to the copy forwarded to me and instructed the gentleman to please check Mr. Foxx's files and he would see the association has been involved since 2006. At the time of my correspondence, I received a letter stating that Rosemont Avenue didn't have enough traffic to warrant speed bumps. When I wrote back, I stated that it was not the traffic, but the speed in which the motorists drove on this street. Perhaps, with all this correspondence Rosemont may get speed bumps. I can't promise, but we've been supporting the families on Rosemont Ave. in their efforts to have this done.
Hope to see members of our community as well as members of the Association at the Annual East Rosemont Christmas Party at the next meeting.
Phyllis Matlick
President
